We want to help individuals get their bills paid in a timely manner. To do so, we are developing tools for patients like our PRC Cards. PRC cards have reminders of the billing & referral process and can be a helpful tool for patients navigating referred care or emergent care visits.

Billing Steps

As a PRC eligible approved patient, if you get a bill from a PRC referred provider:

Bring your bill to LTHC, bills can be dropped in the black drop box in front of the building or brought to medical records to be delivered to a PRC staff member. We recommend keeping a copy of the bill for your records too.

Bills are screened to check that there is a referral by an LTHC provider for the service, That the patients insurance has been billed as primary, and that the service is covered by PRC.

PRC may request a claim form and explanation of benefits.

They will then pay the patient responsibility and adjust claims to MLR

Denials can be issued if, but are not limited to:

No referral, non-covered, ineligible for PRC, referral expired, outside of PRC delivery area, or failure to respond to inquiry.

If you receive a denial, and would like to appeal, an appeal must be submitted in writing within 30 days, delivered to LTHC’s front mailbox.
